well, first thing first, wishing an early Merry Christmas, good health and good tidings to all of you and your family. to bb and miyo (who will be spending christmas in Japan!), thanks for these wonderful months although we only knew each other like a 4-5 mths? thanks, bb, for always sharing, be it on leader or on a personal basis. to miyo, enjoy your japan trip, take lots of photos and think of us both ok? keke….
as u all knew, the three of us attended Persona Hong Kong. so just wanna share what i have written for my trip account and of cos the photos of leader… hahaha!
well, good things are worth the wait, isnt it? thats what i think. haha. of the 580 plus photos taken for my Hong Kong trip, close to 50% were taken on the concert day itself. from the pre-concert to the actual concert and post-concert. i would try putting up more photos, especially since this concert, unlike the previous two, allowed phototaking. much to the delights of all the fans, im sure.
considering this is my third time attending SS501′s Persona Concert, i still enjoy myself at each and every of their concerts. even after i have attended their Persona concerts in Seoul and Taipei. although you might say experiencing it once is enough but there are differences in each of their concerts, in their song set list, esp for JungMin’s solo where he would perform a song from that country. like he performed 甜蜜蜜 in Taipei, 朋友 in Shanghai and 追 in cantonese for Hong Kong. with much sincerity everytime he performed. much to the delight of the fans. each experience, feeling, atmosphere, the company to the concert was definitely different. and im glad i have the right company to go with each time and enjoyed myself thoroughly in each concert and trip.
this time round in Hong Kong, even YoungSaeng’s solo segment was different from his previous Persona concerts. being near to christmas, the concert atmosphere was one filled with christmas feel and with snow effect too!
im not exactly a die-hard fan or overdoing into idol-chasing. like what people ard me would think or say. just judging by the trips i made to see the guys at the concerts. infact, initially i was quite upset by a friend who commented that i overdid this. spending money unnecessarily. being my financial advisor and a fren, i know he was worried. but for me, im thinking – how long can this last? its just this period where the Persona Asia Tour is on. lts sorta like once a lifetime thingy. which i feel i may not get the same opportunity, the same group of people, the time etc. life itself is so full of uncertainty and changes. i do not want to regret not doing the things i want to in my life and regreting much in the later part. of cos, to be able to do the things i want involves much more, especially financial. and im pretty much aware of that and will do things that are pretty much in my control.
being me, i dun really wanna explain much. since the Persona concerts in Seoul, which was my first overseas trip to see a concert, the trips to Taipei and Hong Kong have became more than just the guys and Persona concerts. it is being able to go on holidays with a good company of friends whom i have known since i knew the guys. i wouldnt say we are best of friends and companions yet but im sure in time to come, we would. at least we have something in common we all love, something to share and talk about. the ST★R.
♥ PRE CONCERT
12.12.2009. the day SS501 held their Persona Concert in Hong Kong. the venue? AsiaWorld Expo. reporter emz on site. keke.
merchandise were up for sale at ard 4. however queues started way before that. oh gosh, note how the word ‘official’ was being mis-spelt.
the various hk fanclubs’ posters and banners. just a couple of these shots took a considerable amount of time. cos fans were taking with them. imagine i had to wait till the coast is cleared to take them.

fans were allowed into the concert area at 1930hrs and the concert started promptly at 2000hrs. no security checks, and best of all, no queue! management of the crowd was so so much better than the situation in taipei. no frustration or unhappiness. just purely anticipation and excitement to see the guys and for the commencement of the concert. which i think was a pretty good start to the rest of the evening.
as i mentioned in my earlier post, our area A3 was so roomy. not packed + no squeezing = happy fans. hahah! i could jump, hop and move ard so comfortably!

i was again immersed in the excitement of being in SS501′s concert. what i felt then was what i had felt back in Persona Seoul in Aug 09. the familiar green sea of lightsticks, the background music, the mtvs, the usual fans’ screaming whenever the guys’ mtv was shown.
♥ HIGHLIGHT OF THE DAY – PERSONA CONCERT

Persona Hong Kong started with a big bang and pyrotechnics along with the fans’ highly energetic waving of the lightsticks and screaming. watch the opening of the concert.
5 gorgeous hunks descended from above the stage. just like the one in Seoul. with the flaming background and in their military-like costumes, SS501 further warmed up the already much-heated up atmosphere in AsiaWorld-Expo, Hong Kong with the opening song, Deja Vu. thanks to ting0812.
Unlock and Warning were up next. thanks to devildenise whose shot was so near. in between the guys did their self-introduction of their names in cantonese. they would always attempt to learn the basic greetings of the country they would perform in, making themselves more approachable and appealing to the fans. precisely thats why i think SS501 have earned themselves a large fan base, both in korea and overseas.

in their fuschia and black colored costume, they danced to the next set of songs – 4chance and A Song Calling For You. pretty much similar to previous concerts. fans were singing in unison and chanting along as these 2 songs were rather popular. and with the usual intimate movements between the guys and the female dancers. yah, upon listening for the third time, i think the fans were protesting. hahha.

HyungJoon’s solo HeyG and KyuJong’s 2 songs – Never let you go and Wuss Up were similar to previous concerts. both receiving much applause and screaming from the fans.

after baby’s and KyuJong’s solo performances, the 5 guys came together for Never Again and Because I’m stupid. many a times during the concert, i was very much into singing along with the songs and almost dancing. other times? im happily taking photos. haha.

JungMin never fail to amaze me with his solo segment. always. He sang his Solo, If You Cannot and also with his multi-linguistic ability, he chose to perform 追, Chase by the late singer-actor Leslie Cheung for the movie He’s a Woman, She’s a Man (金枝玉葉)(cantonese) for Persona Hong Kong. which received overwhelming responses from the fans. like he always did during his segments in previous concerts. i think his rendition of the song was nice. and i wondered how he learnt the song, not to mention memorizing the lyrics, within a short time. amazing.

U R Man and Fighter up next. similar to previous concerts. cant helping dancing and enjoying the beats and grooves of U R Man. my fav song before Love Like This. absolutely groovy. i like the dance as well.
unexpectedly, to my surprise, YoungSaeng performed something very different from his past Persona. watch his solo performance of You Are My Heaven (rap version with HyungJoon) and Find (rock version of an old song of SS501) here. credits to rmdkdl. the songs were rather refreshing for a change. he shd be praised for daring a different image, that of a bad boy, rocker kind.

Finally, the much awaited leader’s Solo, Please be good to me. credits to cowchristy. even after watching it for so many times, im still enjoying it. so does many many of the fans there as well. keke.
the exciting moment came when leader just ripped of his shirt, showing his toned abs, to the deafening screams of the whole crowd. almost went deaf each time leader did it. Managed to take one photo of HyunJoong in his solo segment. the rest of the time? i was 100% focussed on him.

the next group segment was on the songs from the Rebirth Mini Album. and i like all the songs being performed. from Crazy 4 U (although this was not in the album, im still loving it), Only One Day, Green Pea (a song written by SS501 for the fans) to Love Like This which was a major hit and my fav no.1 song as well. credits to cowchristy, devildenise for the vidz.

Encore
Before i knew it, the concert was almost over. the fans asked for encore, in Persona Hong Kong, in a rather different way. the fans sang “we wish you a Merry Chrismas” before the guys appeared again in santa claus outfit over their Persona Hong Kong tee-shirt. (i also wan that tee!) see the cute graphics of the guys as santa claus on screen.
Coward and Bye Bye were the encore songs. there was snow effect too. all in the lovely spirit of christmas. i like christmas! and it was the same water splashing and fans using water guns on the guys again. being in the standing area, i had water being splashed on me too! my only concern was my camera cos it had many many of the photos of the concerts as well as my trip. hahah.

♥ POST CONCERT

as i kept mentioning, while i kept anticipating their concert to come as fast as possible, at the end of the concert, i would wish the concert would never end! haha. it was over in just 2+ hrs. be it the Persona concerts in Seoul, Taipei or Hong Kong, the time spent watching the concert was like the fastest time of my life. how i wished it would never stop.

watched it already? if you’d read the fan account that i’d translated earlier, you’d notice that the fan said the boys wore gray suits that they wore during the LLT promo period. but watching the clip and also looking at the pic, i think the boys were wearing brand new suits. what do you think?

JAPAN 2nd CHRISTMAS SHOW
One of my friend went to the party, and this is her story:
The show was really good. Fans were so excited. It’s hard to hear the boy sometime because fans were too loud. They sang live very good. There was some mistake by YS and JM here and there, but just a minor thing, and fans were very supportive. They styled their hair totally different from Persona. HJL looked extremely young with his hair down.
SS501′s special Christmas service: Light up candles for the fans. Each of them have a different colour candle.
Leader Hyun Joong caused chaos to almost every table during the proccess. All fans tried to touched and pulled him. A child was pushed and fell to the floor. Hyun Joong picked the child up and brought the kid back stage. Two bodyguards were with him to keep the fans down.
Fans loved to talk to JungMin, since he speaked Japanese fluently and provided great fan services; very charming and funny. He had lots of makeup on. He has the most makeup on among all the members. Leader has very little make up. Next one is baby.
Kuy was very charming, and gentle, very manly. He did not talk much, just smillng. YoungSaeng too.
The food wasn’t that good, but nobody cared, since all five men were too gorgeous, and dashing. Fans prepared a lot of gifts for each of the boys.
All the performance were carried out nicely. The sound was great, since the place was not too big, so you can hear their voice as natural as they sounded. So far, there was no complaint, everybody were very happy with the party.
Strictly no camera, or camrecorder allowed in the party. There will be video from the official for this party. The above pictures were taken in secret by a fan.
you know what? the princess is beginning to think that leader had carried a child and not a full grown woman as i’d thought after reading YEN’s POST.
okie, no tantrums, no sulking or pouting required for the time being. and oh, no fainting required for the time being too.

The Christmas Dinner started with playing of the Japan concert video. The women were discussing about leader’s woman as they ate their dinner. The event started after dinner. They’d opened with Love Like This, and the boys woreTHE GRAY OUTFITS that they had worn when promoting LLT. Leader’s really cute.
After performing LLT came their usual style of greeting ╮(╯_╰)╭ YS didn’t introduce himself as the prince… (okie, okie, you’re Bad Boy now…)
After that was Haruman (Only One Day).
Then it was Q&A session, the type whereby the boys would raise O (yes) or X (no) as answers. Answers are in this order: (1)Leader, (2)YS, (3)Kyu, (4)Mal, (5)Baby
Q1: What if your girlfriend dresses casually or sloppily for your Christmas date?

Baby: Coz she’s my girlfriend, so everything can be forgiven~
Mal: Aiya~ That’s really matured~
Leader: No, no… I chose wrongly…(seems like he didn’t understand the question correctly–+)

YS: Ski resort. Want to have snowball fight with her.
Mal: en, en… Hide a stone or something in the snowball… haha…
Kyu: Jeon-ju (*bb: just in case you didn’t know, kyu’s from there…)
Baby: Go for a gathering with my family, like go fishing and stuff.
After the Q&A session, the boys sang Always and Forever, and then they played the Phone Call Connection game. Each of the five boys had a cellphone in their hands, and they announced the numbers of the five handsets. The moment the emcee said ‘GO!‘, the fans started to dial these five numbers to see which fan could successfully get through to the cellphones that the boys were holding on-stage.
The lucky fans who could get through could go on-stage for her prize – an alarm clock with recording function! The member whose number the fan got connected with would record on-the-spot whatever message the fan wanted to hear!!!
Leader: Mika~ ~! Wakeup~ ~! Quickly get up~ ~! Aishiteru(a recording with a rock feel- – and, he didn’t seem to get the recording right, and had to do it a few times) (*bb: Aishiteru = i’m in love with you)
Kyu: Quickly, get up orh~ ~ We’re going to Disneyland together~
YS: I’m coming over to see you now~ Quickly get out of bed orh~
After that, they sang Hoshizora.
Then they changed into an all-white tuxedo, and started to light the candles table by table, and also to deliver their greetings. There were 100 ordinary tables, and five VIP tables. Each table had 10 people. For the VIP tables, all five of them went together; as for the ordinary table, only one member was appointed to each table.
There’s a lady who had brought along her kid- -+, the kid fell, and Leader carried the kid up.
Leader was the first to finish lighting his candles and return to the stage. Then it was YS, Kyu, Mal and Baby. Leader was really speedy; Mal and Baby were very polite and friendly.
Next, the five of them sang Green Peas in Japanese! The lyrics were shown on the big screen, and everyone sang along. Then it was lucky draw and giving away of the prizes, and then more chatting.
Lastly, they sang Snow Prince and Coward. The end.
The boys went back home this morning, and over a hundred fans were at the airport to send them off. I only saw four of them, didn’t see YS. Leader will be back in Japan next week, it’s for the recording of a FOOD PROGRAM FOR FUJI TV. Looks like Leader will spend Christmas in Japan, he said if there’s time, he’d go to Hakone for onsen .

Kim Hyun Joong Wishes to Share Artistes & Songs He Likes
Kim Hyun Joong chose Remembrance by Turbo as a classic by Korean idols, and he added that it is a pity that students these days do not even know who Turbo is.
In the segment ‘Best Idol Classics As Chosen by SS501′ of Golden Fishery aired on the 16th, Kim Hyun Joong chose Remembrance by Turbo as the third, Comeback by Sechskies (or 6kies) as the second, and To My Mother by G.O.D as the first.
In particular, Kim Hyun Joong mentioned that “The young people don’t even know H.O.T and Turbo,” and explained that he would like to share with everyone the songs of artistes whom he likes.
hands up, those of you who have never heard of these artistes or songs that leader was talking about?!
hehe, my hand was the first to shoot up! i’ve only heard of G.O.D (haiyo, i’m referring to the mortal and earthly ones lah…) and never heard any of the three songs he’s mentioned. then again, i hardly listen to kpop, yea, the use of present tense was deliberate since i still can’t say i do now, hehe!
okie, lesson time! i’ll start with the first, then second, followed by the third place, k?
SECHKIES or 6kies have six members. this all-boy group made their debut back in 1997. one unusual thing about sechkies is that the group was divided into two sets of three members, the Black Kies and the White Kies. The Black Kies mostly did the rapping and the White Kies would do the vocals. coincidentally, the Black Kies were the three older members of the band, while White Kies were the younger members. and oh, understand that sechkies was sorta H.O.T‘s biggest rival back in the late 1990s.

moving on to G.O.D. now this one i’ve heard of, but never heard, if you know what i mean… they’re supposed to be pretty big, like maybe as big as shinhwa…? don’t kill me if that’s not accurate, ya? i’ve already said i don’t know much about korean pop music, but i do know that together with shinhwa, G.O.D is included in the top 10 groups of recent pop history.
they have lots of great hits apparently, but the one that leader has chosen is a very meaningful one. To My Mother has a great MV too! i’ve found one with english subs, enjoy…

moving on to the third song, Remembrance 회상 by TURBO. now this song is translated into 回想 in chinese. as for english, i’ve found different versions, some have referred to the song as Reminiscence, some as Remembrance or Recollection. anyway, they all mean roughly the same thing, i.e. thinking back or recalling, you know what i mean, ya?
now this one’s a surprise to me. those of you who watch korean variety shows would have seen KIM JONG KOOK on many of them, and if you’re an x-man fan, then there’s no way you’ve not heard about the ‘peculiar vibes’ from yoon eun hye and this guy. in fact, i’ve given you the link to THEIR SO-CALLED SCANDAL when i was blogging about the BASIC HOUSE ENDORSEMENT DEAL.
and if you don’t watch x-men and stuff, but find him awfully familiar, that’s probably because you had seen him appear in FAMILY OUTING together with leader. yea, he’s the one with the bodybuilder physique.

for those of you going, good luck and have fun! should be a great one, you can celebrate valentine’s day, you know?! bring all things pink and heart-shaped…!! for those of you who have your plans all messed up by the date-change, my heart goes out to you. but hey, PERSONA ENCORE in seoul, maybe?
anyway, shan’t say much, but seems like there could be more surprises heading our way. good news? bad news? well, it’s all a matter of perspective, i guess. my perspective? hmmm… don’t think it’s good news if it does materialise. anyway, whatever will come will come.
and… here’s a belated pic and a clip of leader touching down at gimpo airport from japan on sunday. he’s all decked out in black, just like when he was flying into japan.
leader looks so cute in the clip! DSP president and the rest of the boys had already cleared immigration and were all walking out, when leader just strolled out nonchalantly with a carrier… then it suddenly dawned on him that he’s alone, and that the rest were all ahead of him, and he suddenly broke into a run, seemingly to catch up with them.
the black ball-thingy on his beanie was bopping up and down as he was hurrying along, sooooo… adorably cute!

to bb and miyo (who will be spending christmas in Japan!), thanks for these wonderful months although we only knew each other like a 4-5 mths? thanks, bb, for always sharing, be it on leader or on a personal basis. to miyo, enjoy your japan trip, take lots of photos and think of us both ok? keke….
